چکیده

Introduction Breath-hold cine MRI with balanced steady-steady free precession (b-SSFP) may yield non diagnostic image quality in patients with impaired breath-hold capacity and/or arrhythmias. In such patients, it may be necessary to perform real-time cine MRI. Currently, dynamic parallel imaging methods, such as TSENSE [1] and TGRAPPA [2], can be used to achieve only moderate acceleration rates (R) of 2-3 using standard body and spine coil arrays. We propose the application of a recently developed joint acceleration technique (CS-PI) [3] that combines compressed sensing [4] and parallel imaging for highly-accelerated, real-time cine MRI with clinically acceptable spatiotemporal resolution.

Novel highly accelerated real-time CINE-MRI featuring compressed sensing with k-t regularization in comparison to TSENSE segmented and real-time Cine imaging

Background In patients with breath-holding difficulties or arrhythmia, real-time CINE-MRI is preferred over segmented acquisitions in one breath-hold. However, common real-time sequences require a deteriorating trade-off between spatial and temporal resolution. In the current work, highly accelerated real-time CINE-MRI which features compressed sensing with k t regularization [1] was evaluated ...

Highly accelerated real-time cardiac cine MRI using k-t SPARSE-SENSE.

For patients with impaired breath-hold capacity and/or arrhythmias, real-time cine MRI may be more clinically useful than breath-hold cine MRI. However, commercially available real-time cine MRI methods using parallel imaging typically yield relatively poor spatio-temporal resolution due to their low image acquisition speed. We sought to achieve relatively high spatial resolution (∼2.5 × 2.5 mm...

Accelerating Magnetic Resonance Imaging through Compressed Sensing Theory in the Direction space-k

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a noninvasive imaging method widely used in medical diagnosis. Data in MRI are obtained line-by-line within the K-space, where there are usually a great number of such lines. For this reason, magnetic resonance imaging is slow. MRI can be accelerated through several methods such as parallel imaging and compressed sensing, where a fraction of the K-space lines...

Highly accelerated cardiac functional MRI in rodent hearts using compressed sensing and parallel imaging at 9.4T

Background Parallel Imaging (PI) and Compressed Sensing (CS) are alternative approaches to reduce scan time in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Specifically, PI (i.e. TGRAPPA) has recently been demonstrated to provide a threeto four-fold acceleration of cine-MRI in mice and rats (Schneider et al, MRM 2008 & 2011), while CS allowed for a three-fold reduction in scan time in normal mice and in a...
